Chattanooga Zoo Introduces first ever mascot Finnegan
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Our friends at the Chattanooga Zoo are introducing their first ever mascot to the team, and his name is Finnegan.
To uphold the zoo’s mission of creating a fun and interactive environment where people can learn about animals, Finnegan can be seen walking around the zoo grounds and appearing at special events, including animal feedings and birthday parties.
Jake Cash, Director of Marketing and Communications, says Finnegan was created by someone who works closely with the animals every day.
“He was actually made by one of our animal care supervisors here, who manages our animal care staff and our zookeepers. She had the skills to hand make Finnegan. We know a lot of other zoos and aquariums across the country have cool mascots, so we thought the fennec fox would be a great representation for our zoo.”
Finnegan will also be making an appearance at the zoo’s Easter event, Hug a Bunny, coming up in April for those who want to meet him soon.
