Chattanooga Trach Families host Easter egg hunt at Riverview Park
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Chattanooga Trach Families brought the community together this weekend with a family-friendly Easter egg hunt.
The organization hosted the event at Riverview Park, welcoming families for a morning focused on celebration, connection, and inclusion.
Chattanooga Trach Families supports children who have had a tracheotomy, providing resources, guidance, and a strong sense of community for both the children and their loved ones.
Organizers say events like this are about more than just fun. They are about helping others better understand and include children with medical differences.
Laura Scott Madden says creating an inclusive environment is at the heart of their mission.
“Kyra goes to school, she plays at parks, and we really want to help other kids understand that children who are different from them are still kids who want to have fun. Creating an inclusive environment here in Chattanooga is really important to us,” Madden said.
The organization plans to continue bringing the community together through future events.
On May 23, Chattanooga Trach Families will host a 5K and is inviting the public to take part.
