Chattanooga welcomes new fire station to Eastdale

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- Community members came together this evening  to celebrate the opening of Fire Station 15 in Eastdale .

Chattanooga’s new Fire stations will provide service to community members in the area.

The 5 Million dollar project took years in the making.

This new facility includes updated features such as a new kitchen, gym, showers, and sleeping rooms.

“I think what we’ve seen over the years is what fire halls do to communities,” said Chattanooga Fire Chief Phil Hyman. “We proved it with station one fire hall are integral parts of a community and communities are built around fire stations, and that is  how we feel that this station will be as well for the Eastdale community, it is extremely important for the community.”

With this new station CFD looks to more effectively respond to  emergency needs in the East Community.
