Chattanooga Zoo announces themes for Asian Lantern Festival
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Chattanooga Zoo has announced the themes for their annual Asian Lantern Festival this winter.
Hundreds of hand-crafted lanterns will be displayed throughout the festival.
Patrons will be able to view different types of wildlife from the Amazon Rainforest and dinosaurs.
Guests can also enjoy a night tour of the zoo, interactive games, and hot chocolate during this festival.
“The Asian Lantern Festival has quickly become a beloved holiday tradition in Chattanooga, and our third annual festival is going to be the best one yet. As always, we are bringing an entirely new lineup of immersive and interactive lanterns to the Zoo, and I think people of all ages will be able to feel the magic,” stated President and CEO of Chattanooga Zoo, Darde Long.
The festival begins on November 26, 2024, running every Wednesday through Sunday from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and concludes on January 19, 2025.

- Adult (Zoo Member) : $18.50
- Kids ages 3-12 (Zoo Member): $13.50
- Adult (Non-Zoo Member): $23.00
- Kids ages 3+ (Non-Zoo Member): $17.00
- Kids ages 2 and younger : FREE
If you’re child is 2 years or younger, the zoo asks you still reserve a ticket for them.
The North Pole’s very own Santa Claus will be in attendance at the zoo December 13, 14, 20, and 21 for pictures.
This festival will be open on Thanksgiving Day, with the zoo being closed for regular business hours.
The festival will however be closed on Christmas and New Year’s Day.
