Cherokee County BB&T Bank Robbery Suspect Wanted
MURPHY, N.C. (WDEF)- The Branch Bank and Trust branch office in Cherokee County located off of Highway 64 West is currently looking for a robbery suspect who stole a undisclosed amount of money.
Around 9:00 a.m the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report that the BB&T had been robbed.
A perimeter was immediately set up and the K-9 units were used for tracking to search the area in and around the bank.
Information gathered at the scene indicated that the suspect fled the scene in a mid- 2000 model Ford Explorer or Lincoln Navigator displaying a Georgia registration plate.
In the picture shown, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a black male in his early 30’s, approximately 6-foot tall weighing in approximately 185-pounds.
He was wearing a black cap, a teal green plaid long sleeve shirt, blue jeans, and blue and white tennis shoes.
The suspect is potentially armed and law enforcement cautions the public who approaches him.
