Cherokee County Historical Museum expands

Murphy North Carolina has re-opened a portal into the town’s history.

The Cherokee County Historical Museum has expanded into the other side of the old Carnegie Library downtown.

The building was most recently used by the Murphy Police Department.

The expansion means the museum can grow their collections of Cherokee artifacts plus antique farming.

The museum is an official interpretive site on the Trail of Tears National Historic Trail.
