Chief identifies suspect in the East Brainerd triple shooting

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Chattanooga Police Chief Fred Fletcher has named a suspect in the triple shooting in East Brainerd.

They have taken out warrants for 29 year old Stephen Maurice Mobley.

Mobley was last arrested in February on charges of criminal impersonation, aggravated assault, and retaliation against a Judge, juror or officer.

District Attorney General Neal Pinkston is asking the TBI to add him to the state’s Top Most Wanted list.

The Chief made the comments at a No Bloodshed rally on the Walnut Street bridge.

He says Mobley is a validated gang member with a long, violent criminal record and should be considered dangerous.

The chief says the surviving victim in the shooting is recovering well from her injuries.

But they are concerned for her safety and will not release her identity at this point.

Investigators are not sure yet if the three victims were living at the house where the shooting occurred early Monday morning on Pinewood Drive.

Earlier, police identified the two people who were killed as 22 year old Jasmine Hines and 23 year old Rashaud Taylor.

A video circulating on Facebook shows the victims at the home Sunday night for a cookout before the shooting occurred.
