Child Abuse Prevention Month

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WDEF-TV) – This is Child Abuse Prevention Month..and the Children’s advocacy center of Hamilton county held an open house Friday at its North Chattanooga center.

The goal is to get the message across the entire community that child abuse is a major problem and one that the average person can do something about.

"I think most people realize it. The question is whether they want to admit it to themselves. Whether they want to take that extra step to protect the children around them…whether they want to believe it can happen to anybody. Child abuse knows no boundaries."

The Children’s Advocacy center will be moving to the city’s new Family Justice Center at Eastgate within the next few months.
