Chip’s Good Word: Rating Sequatchie Cove Cheese

We've got a serious and not-so-serious review of the quality cheeses made in the Sequatchie Valley

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Fine cheese making is becoming a thing in the southeast even though it is not generally associated with our part of the country.

So says Saveur, in an article last week that included the efforts of our own Sequatchie Cover Creamery.

“Specialty cheesemaking in the South—in states like Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia, and the Carolinas—is on the rise, with many producers inspired by the raw milk farmstead traditions practiced in parts of Europe.”

They interviewed Nathan and Padgett Arnold about why they began making fine cheeses in the Sequatchie Valley and the delights of the “Dancing Fern.”
