Chocolate Lovers Turn Out for World of Chocolate Expo in Ringgold

RINGGOLD, GA. (WDEF) –Chocolate lovers packed into Catoosa County this weekend for one of the sweetest events of the year.

The World of Chocolate Expo took over the Catoosa Colonnade in Ringgold on Saturday, bringing together dozens of vendors offering chocolate, savory treats, and specialty gifts.

Event organizer Shannon Wright Owner of  Touch the Sky Events & Promotions, LLC  says the expo featured everything from chocolate-covered bacon and pickles to filled chocolate hearts, hot cocoa, mocktails, chocolate-themed T-shirts, and even chocolate-covered custard from Freddy’s.

Attendees spent the day sampling a wide variety of sweets, snapping free photos with “Willy,” and signing up for the popular “Golden Basket” giveaway.

One attendee says they decided to stop by after seeing a flyer while running errands.
“We had a haircut appointment and saw the placard and thought, they like chocolate, so let’s try it out,” the attendee said.

Organizers say the family-friendly event saw a strong turnout and gave local and regional vendors a chance to showcase their most indulgent creations.

Shannon says the expo is also about bringing people together after spending more time indoors.
“People don’t realize how much they like things like chocolate-covered pickles until they try them,” Shannon said. “We just love offering family-friendly events where people can spend time with friends. I think a lot of people have had cabin fever the last couple of weeks.”
