Chuck Fleischmann speaks at mass

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WDEF) – U.S. Rep. Chuck Fleischmann delivered remarks this morning at the end of 9 am Mass at the Sts. Peter and Paul in Chattanooga. Bishop Stika offered Mass and delivered a homily.

Also celebrating Mass with Bishop Stika was Father David Carter, Rector of the Basilica. In addition, A U.S. Marine Corps color guard from Company D, 4th Combat Engineer Battalion based in Knoxville.

Bishop Stika, who has two brothers who served as U.S. Marines, has called for prayers for the victims of last Thursday’s tragic shootings in Chattanooga and their families. 

Bishop Stika’s homily addressed the shootings and took place mid-way through Mass at approximately 9:20 am.
