Church Members Pray After Minister is Murdered
A local minister’s murder brought members of his church together tonight for a special service to remember him.
Kenneth Johnson was found beaten to death on Tuesday morning.
The man and woman accused of killing him are in custody facing murder and robbery charges.
Johnson’s wife came to the stage in tears as the church members embraced her and prayed for healing…
Police have said they suspect drugs may have been involved in Johnson’s murder, but the church’s Senior Pastor Dr. Ternae Jordan says they don’t believe those accusations.
"We are trusting that those allegations are not true, but if they are true, God is the judge and I don’t think there is any among us that can judge anyone. The tragedy is that we have lost another life in this community and as long as there’s violence in this community there is no difference in brother Johnson losing his life than a young man in the street," said Jordan.
Church leaders say they will continue worshiping and their services as usual as the investigation unfolds.
