City Council Approves Project on Cowart St.
Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – Just days after an ethics complaint was filed with the city, against Councilman Chris Anderson, the controversial project on Cowart St. was passed today in session.
Citizen advocate, Helen Burns Sharp, filed the complaint after she said Councilman Anderson might have violated ethics rules by not disclosing is relationship with the project engineer.
But with the right amount of votes from the Chattanooga City Council the project will move forward, which will lead to a brand new seven-story apartment complex on Cowart St.
"Tonight was the final read," said Councilman Anderson, "So the developer has the go-ahead to start with the project, and I think once it gets built people will feel better about it."
Anderson said the majority of residences living in his district are in favor of the new apartment building.
