City Council approves two new apartment complexes

The Chattanooga city council has approved the building of two new apartment complexes.

Although there seems to be continuous housing construction happening in the Scenic City, Chamber of Commerce Vice President Charles Woods said it is necessary.

“Those new apartment projects getting announced is really a good sign for a number of reasons. So, the first is we’ve got folks who are looking to get into housing. Then we’ve got companies that are trying to hire people that frankly, if they don’t have a place to live, it’s just much harder to get them into the community to take those jobs,” Woods said.

Woods claims housing availability is one major factor holding Chattanooga’s job growth back.
