City of East Ridge hosts Women’s History Month celebration
EAST RIDGE, Tenn. (WDEF) — The City of East Ridge is hosting a National Women’s History Month Celebration on Saturday, March 4. The city invites everyone to attend.
It will take place from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the East Ridge Community Center.
The free event will feature more than 20 vendors, which range from information on women’s services to local products for sale. Additionally, a coloring area will be included for children.
Everyone who attends will get an entry into a raffle. Winners will receive products from local businesses.
Hannah Spear is the East Ridge Community Center Coordinator. She says this event will allow the public to learn what women provide for their communities.
She shared a quote from Rupi Kaur which states, “we will all move forward when we recognize how resilient and striking the women around us are.”
The City of East Ridge notes that Women’s History Month celebrates women’s contributions to history, culture and society.
Women’s History Month has been celebrated every year in the United States since March 1987.
