Cleveland basketball team punishment after Oak Ridge trip
CLEVELAND, Tennessee (WDEF) – The Activity Council for Cleveland schools announces punishments from the basketball tournament in Oak Ridge.
Cleveland High officials had already suspended five students over accusations of breaking curfew on the trip and engaging in consensual sexual contact.
The Activity Council (made up of the AD, teachers, coach or fine arts representatives) have also been looking into the case.
On Friday, they handed down sanctions about against various students.
They range from dismissal from the team to 2-game suspensions plus community service.
However, they are not naming names.
“This concludes our internal investigation into this matter, pending any new evidence.”
