Cleveland Blue Raiders Off to Impressive 3-0 Start

Cleveland, TN-(WDEF) Last year, Cleveland never scored fifty points in a football game.
This year, they’ve done it twice in just three games.
The Blue Raiders wouldn’t mind doing it one more time Friday night as they tackle rival Bradley Central.
Cleveland doesn’t look like a team that went 5-6 last season, and they really don’t reflect on last season either.
Said linebacker River Shaffer-“Staring 3-0. I don’t even remember what we were like last season at this time, but yeah, it’s great honestly.”
One noticeable difference for the Blue Raiders this season is team speed.
Said head coach Scott Cummings-“We’ve got skill position kids that can run.”
Said quarterback Dallas McCrary-“I know 80-perent of the team runs track. Our defensive coordinator, coach (Adam) Renshaw is the track coach. So last year he made them all run track, and they’ll all run track again this year.”
Cleveland is loaded at receiver, which always makes a quarterback happy.
Said McCrary-“Being able to just throw it up to Skyler (Davis) or Z or Mel. Or hand it off to Keegan or Micaleous. It’s just. I mean it’s a luxury-”
Said Cummings-“We’ve actually thrown for more than we’ve ran for so far this year, which is not really my M-O from the past, but we’re going to take what we’ve got. When you’ve got Skyler Davis out there, you are going to throw it to him.”
The Blue Raiders are averaging 47-points a game, but they know they’re in for a test against rival Bradley Central.
Said McCrary-“Friday is when we find out who our players are and what we can do. Like you said, it’s our first big test. We’re really going to see whose who on Friday.”
Said Cummings-“Sometimes you have to grind out games. Our starters haven’t played a fourth quarter game yet. How will they respond when they have to do that. We don’t want to have to be in that position very often. But if we have to be in it, we hopefully have the culture and mindset to be successful.”
