Cleveland burglary arrest

Cleveland, TN (WDEF) – Cleveland Police Officers went to a burglary in progress call on Tuesday and chased down the suspect.

They went to the Old American Knitting Factory on 6th street SE.

Officers were talking to the victim when they heard a noise.

They noticed a man in dark clothing getting out of one of the building’s windows.

The suspect jumped a fence and ran across Church Street.

Officers Tyler McGuire and Brett Taylor chased him.

They arrested 24-year-old Christapher Baumgartner.

Officers then looked at the scene more and found that copper pipes had been cut, tools and a large pair of bolt cutters.

The owner estimated the theft and damage at $30,000.

Baumgartner faces charges of Burglary, Possession of Burglary Tools, Theft over $10,000 and Evading Arrest.
