Cleveland City Schools Director’s Twitter Controversy

Cleveland, TN (WDEF) – Cleveland City Schools Director Dr. Martin Ringstaff responded to Twitter allegations Monday night.

His statement says, “I admit to having made previous mistakes in my personal life. My wife, Heather, and I have worked through these issues and are committed to our family and moving past my mistakes. With the support of the Cleveland City Schools Board of Education, I am dedicated to serving the students of Cleveland.”

The press release also says Board of Education members are in unanimous support of Dr. Ringstaff and his family.

In another press release earlier Monday, Cleveland City School officials confirmed that they were aware of two fake Twitter accounts impersonating Dr. Ringstaff.

It said the accounts were maliciously attacking Dr. Ringstaff.

School officials said they reported the accounts to the Cleveland Police Department.

Police were working with Twitter to shut them down.
