Cleveland High asst. football coach charged with drug possession

CLEVELAND (WDEF) – A former assistant coach for the Cleveland High football team faces criminal charges.

Christopher Heath Weir faces charges of drug possession for resale, drug paraphernalia and possession of a gun during a felony.

The Director of the Drug Task Force came to the Weir home on Monday, but they were there to talk to his wife.

The officers say they smelled the scent of marijuana in the apartment.

Then they spotted Weir trying to hide something in the closet of his son’t bedroom.

He eventually handed over 3 bags of marijuana that he said belonged to his brother-in-law.

According to the police affidavit, they asked Weir if he would pass a drug test.

And he answered that he would not, because he smoked some about two weeks ago.

That fact interests the school system.

They tell us that Weir resigned his position before the arrest.

But he would still have worked for the schools two weeks before.
