Cleveland Police arrest 2 suspects for auto break-ins

CLEVELAND, Tennessee (WDEF) – Cleveland Police arrest two suspects after a rash of auto break-ins at an apartment complex.

It began with calls around 3:40 AM on Thursday about several males breaking into the vehicles parked at Brookes Edge Apartments on Adkisson Drive NW.

A vehicle fled the scene as officers arrived.

But witnesses said two other males were still walking around the complex.

When police caught up with them, they ran.

Cleveland officers, with the help of the Bradley County K9 team, tracked one of the suspects down.

They say they found stolen items on the suspect.

He is 19 year old Jaylen Tipton from Chattanooga.

Tipton was taken to a local hospital with a dog bite.

He was charged with Burglary of a Motor Vehicle, Fabricating/Tampering with Evidence, Evading Arrest and Simple Possession.

Soon afterwards, police got a call about another suspect walking the complex.

They also arrested that juvenile male.
