Cleveland State opens new Health and Science building
CLEVELAND, Tennessee (WDEF) – Cleveland State celebrates the grand opening of its new Health and Science Center.
The building on Adkisson Drive will provide resources for Nursing, Medical Assistant, EMS / Paramedic, Biology and Microbiology students.
It offers state of the art simulation spaces for future medical professionals.
The 53 thousand square foot facility is over 6 years in the making.
Cleveland Mayor Kevin Brooks says “We kept saying Cleveland State is so important because the dream that we’re realizing today wasn’t always a good dream.”
“It was a few bad dreams and we’ve had unfortunate phone calls with Dr. Seymour to say ‘not this year but we’re going to keep trying.’ So to our colleagues at the state who did not quit, thank you.”
The state funded more than 20 million dollars to create the new medical center.
