CMA Fest Spotlight: Hannah Ellis
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — CMA Fest wrapped up in Nashville Sunday night.
Most of the country artists News 12 spoke to at the event have a connection to the Tennessee Valley – like Hannah Ellis.
She recently opened for Carly Pearce on her “29 Tour.”
The first stop of the second leg of the tour was in March at the Walker Theatre, right here in Chattanooga.
Hannah did her own set, and even joined Carly on stage later to sing Ashley McBryde’s part of “Never Wanted To Be That Girl.”
She says she’s enjoyed working with Carly, whom she’s known for a long time.
Hannah also told us about a new song she has coming out this summer called “Country Can.”
“It’s hopefully going to be everyone’s summer anthem. It’s definitely going to be mine. It’s really just about what country music is capable of. It brings us together in a way that so many things can’t in the world, and it just reminds us of all the ways that we’re the same, so I’m really excited about the song,” Ellis said. “That’s what I love about CMA Fest is you meet people from all over the world. I’ve heard all kinds of accents today, and it’s just been so fun to be like, wow, this is what country music is capable of.”
Hannah tells News 12 she really enjoyed the food, and exploring the Scenic City while she was in town.
She says she can’t wait to come back again.
