Coach Jones Says Vols Players Enjoy ‘Turnover Trash Can’
We saw one of the Vols new gimmicks on Monday night against Georgia Tech.
The turnover trash can.
Someone holds up a trash can on the Vols sidelines when Tennessee is on defense.
And if any Vols player collects a turnover, they get to dunk the football ball or try to dunk the football in the trash can.
UT actually started doing this towards the end of last season.
It may seem hokey, but head coach Butch Jones says it has a purpose.
Said Jones:”It’s just something that heightens awareness of turnovers and having some fun with it. Our kids enjoy that. Again I think we are the only school that does things like this. I mean if you go around the country, pretty much everybody does something whether it’s a heavyweight belt, or whether it’s a chain.”
