Cold Case: Warren Hill

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Each month, we feature a cold case on News 12 Now This Morning, hoping to help investigators solve crimes.

On Thursday, Hamilton County District Attorney Neal Pinkston spoke about a 71-year-old man who was found beaten to death with a hammer inside his St. Elmo home.

Warren Hill was found murdered on April 6,1993.

“He was sitting in his apartment,” Pinkston said. “He was still in his chair. There was no forced entry. He collected rent from other tenants, and that was the day he collected rent. His wallet was missing. It was found down on Tennessee Avenue. So obviously, some type of robbery was a motive.”

Investigators have a potential suspect, but need additional supporting evidence to make an arrest.

They believe Hill’s killer is responsible for two other murders that all remain unsolved.
