Collierville Edges Cleveland 62-56 in the State Tournament

Cleveland senior guard Grant Hurst poured in 32 points, but it wasn’t enough Thursday in Murfreesboro, as Collierville knocked off the Blue Raiders 62-56 in the quarterfinals of the state tournament. Cleveland is a big three point shooting team, but they couldn’t find their groove behind the arc. They were 0-8 from three-point land in trailing 25-18 at halftime. Even though Hurst scored 32 points, he was just 1-8 behind the arc. Grant Hurst scored on a lay-in with 3 minutes to play to cut the lead to three, but the Blue Raiders couldn’t catch Collierville, who shot 71 percent in the final period.
