Colorado company bringing new jobs to Georgia

COLUMBUS, Ga. (AP) – A Colorado-based company says it plans to create 600 jobs in Georgia over the next five years.

The Columbus Ledger-Enquirer reports that Global Callcenter Solutions will occupy temporary space in downtown Columbus. The call center will then move to a 46,000-square-foot (4,271-square-meter) structure that used to be a Winn-Dixie supermarket.

The company is based in Pueblo, Colorado, and its clients include cable television and broadband service firms.

Tyler Cox, the firm’s vice president of information technology, says the company explored locations in Florida, Texas and other areas of the Southeast before choosing Columbus.

Company officials say they’ll be hiring nearly 100 people soon in the downtown building while the permanent location is being retrofitted with wiring, telephones and other office equipment needed to operate the call center long-term.
