Comcast announces completion of their 10-Gig network for Chattanooga businesses

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Comcast Business has finished their 10-gigabit Fiber Network for the Chattanooga market.

The fiber-based Ethernet service offers local businesses, schools, hospitals and government with ultra fast Internet connectivity.

“Like Chattanooga, Comcast continues to make important technology investments that keep the community ahead of tomorrow’s innovations,” said Cleve Lewis, Vice President for Comcast Business.

“This effort will accelerate local economic growth and business opportunities for existing organizations and help attract new industries.”

Comcast now offers these services:

• Ethernet Private Line: point-to-point connectivity between two customer sites for bandwidth-intensive applications.
• Ethernet Virtual Private Line: point-to-multipoint connection to enable customers to tailor bandwidth, performance characteristics, and cost.
• Ethernet Network Service: multipoint-to-multipoint connectivity to connect organizations with high-bandwidth requirements and multiple locations across Comcast’s network.
• Ethernet Dedicated Internet: continuous, high-bandwidth connectivity between customers’ LANs and the public Internet.
