Community steps up for young cancer patients after a Grinch strikes

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – We told you about the theft of 2 iPads from the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Caner.

They used the iPads for cognitive testing of their young patients.

After seeing the reports on social media, one donor dropped by with a check to cover the loss.

“The response to this ‘Grinch-like’ story has been nothing short of phenomenal, starting with the television pieces that really got the word out about what had happened,” said Austin Hatcher Foundation President Amy Jo Osborn.

“We are so very grateful for that. In addition to our anonymous donor, we are getting many other inquiries from people in the community, asking how they can assist the Foundation. Truly a community with a great heart.”
