Con Nooga Returns to Chattanooga

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) –  Where can you see Star Wars characters, and learn about the new movie Deadpool at the same time?
Con Nooga is back in Chattanooga.
It started in 2008 when a group of friends decided to create a convention all about fandom.
Participant Nocona Watts says there’s something for everyone.
“There’s tons of different panels that are going to be going on, like the Deadpool panel where they’re going to be talking about the movie, the character himself, the comics. There’s going to be comics sold everywhere. And then there’s going to be events like the “Saber Idol” event, which is a competition for lightsaber combat.”
Con Nooga has expanded to include anime, TV, comics, fantasy, gaming and horror.
That’s just for starters.
Some people even make their own outfits.
The con also gives you a chance to check out some new music.
Scoty Scurvy is the bass player for the group “The Graveyard Boulevard.”
“We probably do a dozen cons a year. Yeah, the band plays, the store, Dead Ed’s, sets up. We just took it on the road, shut the store front down for Dead Ed’s, and took everything on the road, have a blast, love it.”
Con Nooga runs until Sunday afternoon at the Chattanooga Convention Center.
There are also events going on at the Chattanooga Choo Choo.
