Countdown to Fun at the Creative Discovery Museum

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Families packed the Creative Discovery Museum to celebrate the new year a little earlier than usual during the annual New Year’s at Noon event.

The family-friendly tradition has been part of the museum for 30 years, giving children a chance to celebrate without staying up until midnight.

As the ball dropped, balloons rained down over the crowd, sending cheers through the museum.

Following the countdown, families enjoyed apple juice toasts, bubble dance parties, and hands-on activities designed to keep kids learning while having fun.

Museum staff say the event brings families together during the final days of winter break, creating memories while encouraging learning through play.

Parents say it’s a meaningful way to reflect on the year past and look ahead to the year ahead, all before bedtime.
