LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. (WDEF)- A group of sports management majors at Covenant College about to get some big time experience.

Students in the program will be heading to the Super Bowl next month in Arizona and the Final Four in Texas in April to gain valuable work experience.

As sports management majors, they learn how to manage the behind the scenes experience at stadiums for fans, and are getting the experience on the biggest sport stages America has to offer.

Kacey Melton, one of the sports management students going on these trips, said that, “When we go to these events, the biggest thing is being able to see other fans enjoy the experience. It’s not like your everyday, “Let’s go to a football game. Let’s go to a baseball game.” You get to put it on, and you get to help other people enjoy it.”

Makenna Dance, another student going on these trips, said that, “For me, going into Freshman year, I didn’t know what I wanted to do. So going into sports management, and being able to do these hands-on experiences. It definitely helps me decide if this is what I want to do in the long run, and helps me see if I do want to do it in the long run, what specific area I want to do sport management in.”

As part of their trips, the students will get to visit professional sports organizations like the Arizona Diamondbacks and Phoenix Suns. They also as part of the curriculum get to work behind the scenes at Atlanta Falcons games.
