CPD responds to pedestrian being struck in the early morning hours

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Chattanooga Police responded to a call about a pedestrian being struck on March 16, 2025, at 12:15 a.m. in the 4700 block of Highway 58.
When officers arrived, they found a 60-year-old man deceased.
CPD’s Traffic Unit began investigating the crash.
According to the initial findings, a Chevy Malibu was traveling north in the left lane of Highway 58 when it struck the pedestrian.
The victim, who was wearing dark clothing, was crossing the highway in heavy rain and storm conditions at the time of the incident.
This investigation is ongoing, and details may change as more information becomes available.
