CROSSVILLE, Tennessee (WDEF) – Cumberland County investigators have charged a man with a shooting in a road rage case on Friday.

The victims said a man in a white pickup with a trailer began honking his horn at them as they headed north on Highway 127 around Crossville.

They say the truck cut them off, hitting them with the trailer, pointed a gun and then fired it.

Sheriff’s officers found 20 year old Jon Kadan Johnson in a nearby residence.

They say he admitted to firing the warning shot into the ground and hiding his vehicle in a nearby field.

Deputies say they found a Ruger 9mm handgun and ammo in the woods.

Johnson faces a charge of Aggravated Assault.

“Sheriff’s Office officials remind the public that road rage incidents can escalate quickly and dangerously. Citizens are encouraged to avoid engaging with aggressive drivers and to contact law enforcement immediately if they feel threatened.”
