Dade County High School Track Delay
Dade County High School students may have to wait a little while longer to use their track.
Last June, Dade County High School started construction on a new track to host meets.
However, as construction work continued, crews realized that the track dimensions were not within regulation guidelines.
Dade County School Superintendent Cherie Swader says they have decided to tear up the track and completely start over.
"The taxpayers are getting the greatest value and they are saying we are not going to settle.
We want to make sure that it is done correctly and that our students can benefit from it and the community can benefit from it.
So that’s where we are."
While the delay may be an inconvenience, the construction will not cost taxpayers any extra money.
