Dalton man charged with raping two young girls in home where he was staying
DALTON, Georgia (WDEF) – A Dalton man wanted for allegedly raping two girls is now in police custody.
David Guzman, 34, of Dalton has been charged with two counts of child molestation, child rape, sexual battery on a child and sodomy of a child less than 10 years of age.
According to the incident report obtained by News 12, Guzman committed the alleged acts while staying with a woman who had two children.
According to the woman, Guzman had been staying with her for seven years.
“This incident was reported to us back in 2012. In a very short order, our investigation led to getting warrants for Mr. Guzman but we were unable to locate him at that time. We were able to locate him yesterday,” said Dalton Public Information Officer Bruce Frazier.
According to the incident report, the mother learned about the abuse when she attempted to take her then 14-year old daughter to see a gynecologist for a check up. Her daughter started crying then told her Guzman had been molesting her for several years behind her mother’s back.
The teen told investigators that she was afraid to tell anyone because she feared Guzman would hurt her family.
She sad the last forced encounter she had with Guzman was two weeks before he moved out of the house.
The woman’s other daughter told police, That while Guzman was staying there, he sexually assaulted her several occasions from the time she nine up Intel she turned 13.
The youngest victim also admitted to police that she kept the assaults a secret out of fear.
When Guzman moved out, he reportedly moved in with another woman who has been described as a girlfriend with small children.
Guzman remains in the Whitfield County Jail without bond.
