Dalton Police hope you can help solve burglary

Dalton, GA (WDEF) – The Dalton Police Department hopes you can help solve a January burglary.
Nearly $6,000 worth of rare coins got taken from a home on Wycliffe Drive.
A potential suspect was recorded on surveillance video at a neighboring house.
It happened between 5:00 and 7:00 am on January 9th.
Dalton officers were called after two people hired to take care of the homeowner’s pets discovered a back door had been kicked in. In addition to the rare coins, police say the burglar also stole old tax documents and social security information for members of the homeowner’s family.
A neighboring homeowner found surveillance video of a male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. Unfortunately, the video is blurry and not much can be determined about the suspect from the pictures.
Investigators believe the suspect left in a red Nissan Altima that was also recorded leaving the area.
If you know anything about this crime, please call Detective Chris Tucker at 706-278-9085, dial 9 and enter extension 165.
