Dalton State One Of The Most Affordable Colleges In The US

DALTON, GA, (WDEF)-Jodi Johnson has spent almost 2 decades at Dalton State building  her college to become the best it can be.

Jodi Johnson, VP of Dalton State, "We are a public institution we are part of the university system of Georgia which purposely keeps our costs in check so we can keep it accessible for our students so that give us an edge being a public institution".

For the fifth consecutive year Dalton State has ranked amongst the top in the nation to get a 4 year degree at the lowest price.

"We just have a tradition here of doing more with less people take great pride in their work at this institution and they work together, to make it a quality product for our students".

More than 75 per cent of students at the college receive some form of need based aid.

With one third of the student population living at or just below the poverty line.
However Jodi is hoping the school can keep building for years to come.

"To have quality indicators such as increased graduation rates, we are looking at baccalaureate programs and that is our goal to fill the niche".

The cost of one credit hour at Dalton State balances out to just over 100 dollars.
