Dalton’s Hernandez wins Gatorade Georgia Player of the Year

DALTON, Ga. (WDEF) — Dalton High School’s Omar Hernandez has won this year’s Gatorade Boys Soccer Player of the Year for the state of Georgia.

Hernandez scored 28 goals and recorded 20 assists this season as he helped the Catamounts to the second round of the 6A state tournament.

The junior forward scored multiple goals in eight games, including five hat tricks.

He’s the first boys soccer winner from Dalton High.
