Dayton is new Tennessee RiverTown
DAYTON, Tenn. (WDEF) – Dayton will become one of the newest Tennessee RiverTowns this year.
The RiverTown program is accepting three new communities this year, including Dayton.
The program is an effort by the UT Extension office and TVA to connect towns to the river through paddling, hiking and biking trails.
There are 22 communities enrolled so far, including Spring City, South Pittsburg, Bridgeport and Chattanooga along with Meigs and Jackson counties.
They have sponsored several paddling events on the river.
