Death Penalty Off the Table in Georgia Hot Car Death

A Georgia father accused of killing his toddler son by leaving him in a hot car for hours will not face the death penalty.

Justin Ross Harris was indicted on 8 counts in his son’s death, including felony and malice murder.

 Harris’ attorney calls the charges excessive and says the child’s death was an accident.

  Prosecutors released a statement wednesday saying they will forgo the death penalty in the case "at this time," but did not elaborate on the decision.
