Decatur fire crews fight mobile home blaze overnight
MEIGS COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — A building caught on fire overnight in Decatur, Tennessee.
A single wide mobile home and the surrounding woods was on fire on Firetower Road, according to the fire department.
The fire department said this was an abandoned house and no one was present at the time of the fire. There were no injuries.
Fire officials said they do not know the cause of the fire.
Upon arrival, firefighters say the structure was 75% involved.
The fire department faced many challenges in fighting the flames. They said the driveway was so rough that the firetrucks could not make it up. Crews had to use over 700 feet of supply lines and 300 feet of attack lines.
Several departments assisted in the fire, including McMinn County Fire Department, Meigs County emergency and medical services, Meigs County Sheriff’s Office and 911, Volunteer Energy Cooperative and Tennessee Department of Agriculture-Forestry.
