Deputies chase hit and run suspect with a gun

TRENTON, Georgia (WDEF) – One person is in custody after a reported hit and run on the Walker county side of Lookout Mountain.

Officers tell us the female driver of a truck was pursued into Dade county.

The woman was reportedly with “a man with a gun” for part of that pursuit.

One of her relatives told Dade county authorities they could find her at a home on Highway 136, and that’s where she was arrested.

Sheriff Ray Cross was at the scene.

“Our officers came up here and found the female subject that was driving the truck, and now she is in custody in the back of our car. There was also a male subject, passenger in the car with her that supposedly pointed a gun at another subject and Walker County Deputies are now in route to their county to try to find the subject that she dropped.”

The woman was turned over to the Walker county sheriff’s deputies.

There’s no information available at this time about the victim in the hit and run.
