Deputy arrests suspect for church HVAC theft in north Georgia
LAFAYETTE, Georgia (WDEF) – We told you about the giant HVAC unit stolen from Mission Glen Baptist church in Happy Valley on Sunday, August 11.
Walker County investigators had an image of the suspect before he disconnected a surveillance camera.
And they also had an image of the pickup they believe was used in the theft.
A week later (this past Sunday), a deputy stopped a vehicle matching the description of the suspect pickup.
The officer charged the drive, 45 year old William Michael Crawley of Ringgold with stealing the HVAC.
And they say the pickup he was driving was stolen from Hamilton County.
Crawley faces a variety of charges for the theft, bringing a stolen vehicle into Georgia and possession of meth.
He will be extradited to Hamilton County on the stolen vehicle charge.
