Devin “Skye” Hester turns herself in

UPDATE: From Athens Detective Schultz: Skye Hester turned herself in around 4:15 PM.

She called a friend and that friend drove her to police station.

No word on if they’ll release her or if she’ll have to stay the night in holding.

The District Attorney General will decide on how severe the charges will be against her.

They could be as severe as aggravated assault to attempted aggregated robbery.

The Motel clerk out of hospital. Doing good and stable condition.


ATHENS, Tennessee (WDEF) – The story has changed on Monday on the missing teen in an endangered child alert from overnight.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued the alert for 17 year old Devin Skylar Hester.

She is known as “Skye.”

Police suspect she was involved in an attempted robbery on Sunday morning where a motel clerk was shot in the leg.

Her parents told us on Monday that they were devastated when they heard the news.

And this is completely out of character for the 17-year-old.

After making a plea for her return, Skye turned herself in to Athens Police Monday afternoon.

Two male suspects in the case are still at large.
