DALTON, Georgia (WDEF) – The Dalton Police Department needs your help to identify a department store theft suspect.

Loss Prevention employees at Belk say they tried to stop the woman they say was trying to shoplift clothes from the store.

They say that on Saturday, February 10th, they spotted her pulling tags off clothes and stuffing them into her bag.

When they tried to detain her, she got away and fled in a red Ford Mustang with a white canvas top.

But she dropped the bag, which was loaded with shirts, socks and shoes valued at $272.15.

Employees say she has shoplifted from them before and sold the clothing online.

Police describe the suspect as heavyset, with a mole on her right cheek and the left side of her chin.

The red Ford Mustang was a late 90’s or early 2000’s model.

If you know who this woman is or if you have any other information about this incident, please contact Detective Brian Shirley at 706-278-9085 extension 9189.
