Doctor Uses AI and Technology to bring people Together In a New Way

Dr. Renee Dua develops app to help with overall health

Across the country every tech segment is using AI as subject matter.  Half of us are trying to tell you that you’re about to be in the 1999 Warner Brothers the Matrix or that Skynet From the Terminator series is taking over, and the other half of us are telling you it’s really not that bad and here’s some good things it can do to your social media profile photos.

After personal experiences with her own patients and her elderly parents, Dr. Renee Dua has used AI technology to create her new health app. It’s going to make you use that smart phone for more things than social media and selfies.

“Togetherapp.com which is where you can find it, will allow you to scan a picture of your pill bottles or packages and start building a health profile for you. Let’s suppose you take a medicine like Ozempic or Wegovy.  You scan a photo of the pill bottle and now Together knows that you take those medicines, who prescribed them, where you get your refills, and will start sending you reminders, will notify your doctor in advance that you need refills,” Says Dr. Dua “And will also start telling you really smart things.  For example, if you’re overweight you might need to check your blood pressure.  You can together and use the camera phone and check your vitals.  You can also check your mental health by talking into together.  Because of course many people who struggle with weight issues have mental health issues.  The reason we called it together is it’s a one stop shop.  It’s a repository where all the health tasks you manage in a day are located, and you can share with whomever you want.”

The information is secure and you can only share it with those given access.  So, you can share with your doctor, spouse, or emergency contact. This could even help you keep up with your elderly parents. Together does more than just track your health.

“So one of the most exciting features on the together app is Find My Meds. So, if you’re a person who uses Wegovy or Ozempic or a medication like this.  Often times you’re not able to find your refills. Your pharmacy is not stocked.  If you sign up for together app dot com, and you scan a medication that helps with weight loss like Ozempic or wegovy.  We will reach out to you to see if you want to use the find my meds feature and we will help you find refills for those medications,” Dr. Dua Tells us. “We will help you find those medications in a pharmacy that is acceptable to you, and if they deliver it can be anywhere in the 50 states but if not, we will find pharmacies near your zip code and we will ask you these very questions.  Once again, the idea to ensure you keep taking your medicines. We want you to stay on your medicines and so we want to make it as easy as possible.  We also want to ensure that your insurance is able to be used, or discount coupons that you’re using might be used. So, the experience is not difficult for you but you are remaining on Ozempic or Wegovy.”

The goal for Dr. Dua and her team is to eventually expand to other medications and reach patients across all 50 states to make sure that the Together Technology can help people no matter where they’re located stay up to date and healthy as possible.
