Dr. Justin Robertson named Southeast Tennessee Superintendent of the Year
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Hamilton County Schools Superintendent Dr. Justin Robertson has been named the Southeast Tennessee Superintendent of the Year by the Tennessee Organization of School Superintendents (TOSS).
According to Hamilton County Schools (HCS), this recognition highlights his leadership in improving student outcomes, expanding opportunities for students, supporting educators and staff, and strengthening community trust and engagement across the district.
“My goal as superintendent is to make sure the students and staff in our schools today have the support they need to succeed, while also building the strategies that will position Hamilton County Schools for long-term success over the next 10 to 20 years. That work takes thoughtful planning, strong partnerships, and a shared commitment to creating opportunity for every student in every community. I appreciate my peers across the Southeast for recognizing me with this award, but I’m more grateful to the Hamilton County community for walking alongside me in this work as we strive to serve all students.”

HCS says for the 2024-2025 school year, Hamilton County Schools achieved the highest graduation rate in district history and the state’s Advancing District Designation.
They say under Dr. Robertson’s leadership, HCS also launched LiteracyFirst and LiteracyNow to strengthen early literacy instruction and support reading achievement for young learners.
