Dr. Robert Dooley named interim chancellor for UTC

KNOXVILLE, Tennessee (WDEF) – The University of Tennessee System has officially named an interim chancellor for U-T-C.

Dr. Robert Dooley will take over on January first.

He replaces retiring chancellor Steven Angle.

Dr. Dooley has been dean of the business school for 13 years.

Next week, the U-T system will update the search for a permanent chancellor.

The nationwide search will begin in January.

Dr. Dooley says “I’m so honored to serve during this transition period for the campus. It has been a privilege to work with Chancellor Angle and I’m proud to have been a part of what he accomplished during his time at UTC. I look forward to the opportunity to continue that great work and build on the momentum that we’ve gained.”
