Driver dies in crash involving tractor-trailer on State Route 111

One person has died following a crash on State Route 111 on June 29, 2026.
According to the Cagle Volunteer Fire Department (CVFD), around 5:50 a.m., they responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle.
They say the driver of the passenger vehicle did not survive the crash.
State Route 111 was closed for several hours before reopening to one lane as crews worked to investigate the crash and safely clear the scene.
CVFD responded alongside Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office, Sequatchie Rescue Squad, Piney Volunteer Fire Department, Dunlap Fire Department, Puckett EMS, Tennessee Highway Patrol, Griswolds Towing, and other assisting agencies.
